Ashley was born in Honolulu and raised on the Big Island.  She began her healthcare career working in a variety of hands-on roles, including as a hemodialysis technician, telemetry technician, medical assistant, and nurse aide, gaining a solid foundation in patient care. Ashley earned her Licensed Practical Nurse Certificate and an Associate in Science Degree in Nursing from Hawai‘i Community College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University.

She advanced her education with a Master of Science in Nursing degree as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Hawai‘i Pacific University. During her graduate training at The Queen’s Medical Center & North Hawaii Community Hospital, Ashley focused on Internal Medicine, Orthopedics and Neurology – areas she continues to be passionate about. She also holds an APRN RN First Assistant credential through the National Institute of First Assisting, further expanding her scope in perioperative care.

Ashley’s nursing experience spans long-term care, outpatient clinics, acute hemodialysis, PACU, and ICU. She’s had the unique opportunity to work with the Island Orthopaedics providers in several roles over the years — starting as a medical assistant, then as a RN, later as a nurse practitioner student and now, as their first nurse practitioner — remaining closely connected to orthopedics and giving her a deep appreciation for the continuity of care and teamwork.

When she’s not at work, you can find her traveling, visiting historical sites and museums, baking, cooking, crafting, or just spending quality time with her friends and family. She is passionate about delivering compassionate, evidence-based care and continually advancing her skills to better support patients through their healthcare journey.
