Dr. Michael Chen grew up in the Seattle area where he obtained his medical degree from the University of Washington. He then completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University. Following residency, he returned to Seattle to complete the world-renowned Orthopaedic Traumatology Fellowship at the University of Washington’s Harborview Medical Center.
Well versed on the latest research, Dr. Chen has contributed to over 30 publications in Orthopaedic peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. He has presented his research at national conferences and holds memberships in the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Chen specializes in the treatment of complex fractures, including of the pelvis, and fracture problems such as malunion, nonunion, and infection. In addition, he performs total joint replacement (including the anterior-approach hip replacement, shoulder replacement, and knee replacement) and manages common Orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries.
With a dedication to his patients' health and helping them return to the lifestyle they enjoy, Dr. Chen ensures that his patients are confident in their treatment plan and pleased with the results of his care. He is easy-going, kind, and seeks to provide a comfortable and educational experience for his patients.
Outside of work, he loves spending time surfing, hiking, and cooking with his wife and two children.
